 Change Your Eating habit

In order to gain healthy as well as trimmed body, you should change your eating pattern. While modifying your eating pattern, you must act positively and start slowly. To gain a healthy diet within a short span of time is not sensible. Your new eating arrangement should include small changes, which will turn into your habit. You can start this small change by switching to olive oil, adding salad to your lunch, having fresh fruits as an alternative for sweets and lot more.

Eat Slowly

While eating, you must spare yourself from other worries. Eat slowly, enroll the foods on your taste buds and enjoy it. Do not eat only for the sake of eating. Most of the time, we rush and forget our connection with the food. For healthy diet, we must taste the essence and feel the textures of our food. So, chew your food nicely, savoring every small bite. To eat slowly, you must make a conscious effort. Eating slowly will give your body enough time to make sure that you are full and you don’t have to overeat.

Selection of Healthy Food

The selection of healthy food is very important to gain healthy diet. While selecting the food, you must know that the food which is in its natural state is good for you, than the one which is not. While cooking the food, you can choose to steam them instead of frying, so that the nutritional value of the food won’t get lost. Focus more on fruits and vegetables. Make sure you are getting “whole grain”.  In order to have different flavors, you can include whole wheat, brown rice, millet, quinoa, and barley. These are healthy carbs, which are digested slowly, helping you feel full longer and keeping blood sugar and insulin levels stable. Avoid sugary drinks. Replace it with eating natural sweet food.

Include Protein and Calcium

Including protein and calcium is must in order to have healthy diet. Protein gives us energy and it essential for maintaining cells, tissues, and organs. Proteins can be found in foods like almonds, beans, soy products, chicken. Calcium on the other hand, will keep your body strong and healthy. It is recommended that one should have 1000 mg calcium per day, and 1200 mg if you are over 50 years old. Good sources of calcium are dairy products, leafy green vegetables and beans.
